- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a baking pan.
- Mix sliced strawberries with 2 tbsp of sugar and set aside for 30 minutes.
- Cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Fold in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Whip heavy cream and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Layer cake with strawberries and whipped cream.
