Popeyes Blackened Ranch Sauce Recipe: 5 Best Freezing Ideas

Popeyes Blackened Ranch Sauce Recipe. We do too! It’s hard to go through life without patronizing a fast-food chain every so often, and we feel it might be unwise to ask you to stop.

Luckily, if you’ve ever felt like something is missing from your chicken sandwich or tenders meal, we’re here to help! I’m so excited because I can share my Popeyes Blackened Ranch Sauce recipe with all of you.

How to make Popeyes Blackened Ranch Sauce Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 bunch of scallions, finely chopped
  • 4-6 cups of reduced-sodium chicken stock or water (See Note)
  • 1 (8 ounces) package ranch dressing mix
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (we ran out of cilantro, but I know it’s good with both)
  • Salt and pepper to taste  (we forgot this ingredient too)

Step 1: Heat oil in Dutch Oven. Add onion and saute until tender, about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Add garlic and saute for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until garlic begins to brown.

Step 3: Add chicken stock or water, ranch dressing mix, scallions, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer over medium heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4: Process sauce through a food processor or hand blender until smooth.

Step 5: Strain sauce through a fine-mesh strainer before serving. We want to make it into a gravy or something and not use our fingers!

Step 6: If you have an immersion blender, now’s the time to use it! We love this gadget and find we save time by blending everything right in the pot.

Step 7: It doesn’t heat anything as our regular blender would; you don’t have to clean out the pot afterward, and, most importantly, it works like a charm.

Step 8: If you don’t have an immersion blender, this is how we used to do it. Just mix all the ingredients in a big bowl by hand.

Step 9: Pour sauce into a saucepan and heat through quickly over low heat. We know, but it’s not like anyone ever forgets to heat it again on the stovetop.

Step 10: Simmer for at least 5 minutes, occasionally stirring, until reduced and thickened (a potato masher works best).

Step 11: Serve hot. We think it tastes pretty good on our fried chicken, but we haven’t eaten at Popeyes in a while. Hey, I love the top hat and cane! Let’s visit them next time we’re up north.

Step 12: Enjoy!
