- 1 can (12 oz) Spam, sliced into 8 pieces
- 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
- 4 sheets nori (seaweed)
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tbsp sugar
Instructions
- Rinse sushi rice under cold water until clear. Cook in a rice cooker with 2 cups water.
- While rice cooks, heat a skillet over medium heat. Fry Spam slices until golden brown on both sides.
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, and sugar over medium heat. Stir until simmering and slightly thickened.
- Once rice is cooked and cooled slightly, lay out nori on a clean surface. Place rice in the center, top with Spam slices and drizzle with teriyaki sauce. Wrap nori around the filling.
- Slice musubi into halves or quarters for serving, drizzling with extra teriyaki sauce if desired.
