Description
Tender, slow-cooked beef chuck roast simmered in a savory au jus with garlic, onions, and Italian herbs. Served on toasted rolls for a comforting, hearty meal.

- 3–4 lb beef chuck roast
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 6 hoagie rolls
- Butter for toasting
Instructions
- Sear the beef in a pan over medium-high heat for 3 minutes per side until browned.
- Place sliced onions and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place the seared beef on top of the vegetables.
- Mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, oregano, and basil together, then pour over the meat.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
- Remove the beef and shred it with two forks on a cutting board.
- Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir into the juices.
- Toast hoagie rolls with butter and fill with the beef, serving the extra au jus on the side for dipping.
