Description

  • 12 manicotti shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • 3 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the manicotti shells in salted boiling water for 7-8 minutes until slightly softened. Drain and cool under cold water.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, basil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Fill each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture using a piping bag or spoon.
  5. Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place filled shells seam-side down in the dish. Top with remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle extra cheese on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
