- 12 manicotti shells
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
- 3 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the manicotti shells in salted boiling water for 7-8 minutes until slightly softened. Drain and cool under cold water.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, basil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Fill each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture using a piping bag or spoon.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place filled shells seam-side down in the dish. Top with remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle extra cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
