1. Date and Fig Rollups

Figs are stuffed with dates wrapped in cheese and then rolled up into a beautiful snack for breaking the fast. 


  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 cup chopped figs
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)
  • 12 fresh figs cut into halves 


Step 1: Boil water in a pot and add chopped dates. 

Step 2:  Cook the dates in the boiling water for 4 minutes. 

Step 3:  Place the cooked dates into a mixing bowl, then add figs, honey, and cinnamon, as well as a vanilla extract if you’d like to add it.

Step 4:  Mix all the ingredients with a spoon until they combine well. 

Step 5:  Spread figs on a plate, then roll each fig in half with the date mixture. 

Step 6:  Continue with the rest of the figs until they all are done. These rolls can be stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days, so make some extra and keep them on hand to eat during the week.

These bite-sized balls pack in a healthy dose of energy-boosting protein, fiber, and vitamin B12, which helps restore depleted energy levels after a day at work or school. 


  • 1 cup chocolate quinoa puffs
  • 1/4 cup packed pitted dates (about 3)
  • 3 tbsp. peanut butter 
  • 2 tbsp. ground flax seed 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries 


Step 1: Mix the quinoa puffs, dates, peanut butter, vanilla, flax seed, and cranberries in a large bowl. Mix until it combines well.

Step 2: Form the mixture into about 20 balls. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. 

3. Coffee Walnut Energy Bites

These bites are perfect for the coffee lover in you. With a hint of coffee, it will be sure to wake you up for your day.


  • 1 cup walnuts or almonds
  • 3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp. coffee essence 
  • 1/4 cup dried cherries or cranberries 
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 
  • 1/8 tsp. salt 


Step 1: In a food processor, pulse almonds or walnuts until they are chopped finely. Then add cocoa powder and coffee essence, and pulse until the mixture becomes crumbly. 

Step 2: Add dried cherries or cranberries and continue blending until everything is combined. You can add salt to taste if you’d like. 

4. Dark Chocolate Fruit and Nut Bark

This recipe can be done with dark chocolate or chocolate chips. Just use your favorite type. 


  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped into small pieces
  • 2 tbsp. almond butter 
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder 


Step 1: Combine cocoa powder, almond butter, coconut, and nuts in a bowl and mix until it combines well.

Step 2: Spread this mixture on parchment paper covering a baking sheet to make it easier to remove from the chocolate when it’s cooled. When the bark is cool, break it into small pieces and store it in an airtight container. 

5. Chocolate Fruit Salad

One fruit salad to rule them all! This yummy fruit salad combines four different fruits and grains.


  • 1 cup pecans or almonds, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 cup cashews or walnuts, chopped into small pieces 
  • 1/2 cup raisins 
  • 2 tbsp. apple sauce or soy yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons apricot nectar 
  • 1 tbsp. agave syrup 
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 


Step 1: Mix the nuts, fruit, and grains in a bowl until they are combined well.

Step 2: Pour agave syrup and vanilla extract into the bowl and mix until it’s well combined. 

Step 3: Spread on a plate or wax paper, then place it in the refrigerator for an hour until it becomes solid.

Who doesn’t love a great energy ball? These are made with the energy-boosting goodness of dates. 


  • 1 cup chopped dates 
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. almond butter 
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract 
  • 2 tbsp. wheat germ 
  • 3 tbsp. Ground flax seed 


Step 1: Mix all ingredients in a food processor until they become soft dough. Form into balls that are about 2 tbsp. Each.

7. Nuts and Raisins

Nuts and raisins are a delightful combination, especially when covered in chocolate. 


  • 1 cup walnuts or almonds, chopped into small pieces 
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries 
  • 2 tbsp. peanut butter 
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 


Step 1: Mix cocoa powder, peanut butter, and vanilla in a bowl until well combined. 

Step 2: Add nuts and dried cranberries to the chocolate mixture and mix until they combine. 

Step 3: Make small balls out of the mixture. 

8. Oat Energy Bites

Oats are naturally packed with fiber, which helps reduce cholesterol levels. They’re also packed with great minerals, like selenium, which helps our bodies detoxify harmful toxins. 


  • 1/4 cup rolled oats 
  • 1 tsp. flax seeds ground into meal
  • 2 tbsp. almond butter 
  • 1/8 tsp. salt 


Step 1: Mix oats, flax meal, and almond butter in a food processor until they’re combined well. Then add salt and pulse until it becomes a soft dough. 

Step 2: Roll dough into about 20 balls with about 2 tbs of mixture each and place them on parchment paper to make it easier to remove from the parchment when cooked.

Step 3: Bake in a preheated 375f oven for 10 to 15 minutes. 

9. Raspberry and Coconut Energy Bites

This recipe requires no baking and is super easy to make. It takes about 10 minutes to make enough for you and your friend! 


  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut 
  • 1/4 cup dried raspberries 
  • 2 tbsp. snipped macadamia nuts 
  • 1/2 tbsp. flax seed 


Step 1: Mix all ingredients well in a bowl to combine. 

Step 2: Roll into balls and enjoy!
