How to make Applebees Wonton Tacos Recipe

- Roasting Pan
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. Applebees Crunchy Wonton Wrappers
- 4 cups meat, cooked and chopped into small pieces
- 1 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp. water
- 3 tbsp. chili garlic sauce, or to taste
Step 1: In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat add chili garlic sauce and beef. Cook for 3 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
Step 2: In a large bowl add the chopped green onions and grated cheese. Mix well and set aside.
Step 3: Heat the wok over high heat and add oil. Cook wonton wrappers for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove from skillet and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool.
Step 4: Heat the wok over high heat, and add edges of wonton wrappers at a time for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Remove from skillet and place on a baking sheet to cool.
Step 5: Melt 1 tbsp. butter in another large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the wontons in the butter for 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from skillet and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool.
Step 6: In the same skillet over medium heat add the cooked meat. Cook for 2 minutes or until heated through.
Step 7: While cooking the meat, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl and set aside.
Step 8: Place 1/4 cup of cooked rice on each wonton shell, then add 1 oz. already prepared beef, 1 tbsp. cheese mixture and drizzle with chili garlic sauce.
Step 9: Cover the tacos with cornstarch and water mixture and place in the microwave for 1 minute.
Step 10: Serve with ranch dressing, grated cheese, diced tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, and/or your favorite pickled vegetables.

In my humble opinion, the Wonton Tacos at Applebee’s were really good! The wontons were crispy and it was perfect with some ranch dressing. I loved that they came in a taco shell too.
It was different than your typical Chinese meal where they just throw a mix of things on top and call it a day. The only thing is personally I thought the price was too high for just 4 tacos, but we do live in Houston so prices are higher than average in my opinion.
